Snow is falling outside, but we are busy staying warm and celebrating inside!
We kicked off the month with a Super Bowl party! The Eagles might not be champions anymore, but it was fun to watch the game together. A few days later, we celebrated Chinese New Year with a visit from Jon Tapner. Jon travels to China regularly, and he brought pictures and videos from the Watermark China families and their celebrations to share with our residents. It was so exciting to see all of the communities over in China, and we are looking forward to continuing our relationship with our friends overseas. Residents enjoyed a delicious dinner at Sang Kee Peking Duck House, which is always a favorite annual trip. The celebrations continue with a concert from the C-Sharp Chamber Singers on Saturday, February 16th. They will be spanning all genres from American standards to traditional Chinese music.
We are also celebrating Valentine’s Day with a number of special programs. Jill Migliore led a hands-on chocolate making workshop, and residents had the chance to make corsages and Valentine’s cards in our Crafter’s Corner class. Our Charity Committee made and delivered fresh flower arrangements and cards for our long term care residents; it was a heartwarming afternoon for the committee and residents. This week’s Wine and Cheese was a special Valentine’s celebration, complete with strawberries, chocolate, and a “valentini” champagne cocktail. Nancy Capizzi carried the theme into her monthly music program with selection of music and dances all about love.
There is always something fun to do here at The Watermark! Take a look at our monthly calendar and see what might be of interest to you and your loved one!
