Associates from The Watermark at Logan Square recently volunteered as guest chefs at the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia.
The Ronald McDonald House’s mission is to support families of seriously ill children by creating a community of comfort and hope. One of the ways they do this is by providing housing and meals to the families. To do this they depend on individual and corporate volunteers and donations. Several of us at Logan Square had an opportunity to serve these families by participating in their guest chef program.
Our amazing kitchen staff prepared a delicious pasta dinner which was served with a caesar salad, garlic bread, and desserts. Several associates volunteered to set-up, serve, and clean. Although the families staying there are going through very difficult times, the atmosphere was one of hope and positivity. Everyone was so gracious and even told us the food was some of the best they have had. It was a very humbling and rewarding experience and I look forward to volunteering again.
