Resident Corinne Sheinhorn Enjoys Exploring Philadelphia and Dining with Friends at The Watermark

MAKE ROOM FOR HAPPINESS
The best time to move to a retirement community is when you find one you love.

“I love Philadelphia. I love being here. I love living here. I love my apartment. I love the city. I love the history so I’m very happy here.” – Corinne Sheinhorn, resident of The Watermark at Logan Square

MEET CORINNE SHEINHORN. A FAN OF BALLET, MUSIC, OPERA AND ART, SHE UPGRADED HER LIFESTYLE WHEN SHE MOVED FROM  MANHATTAN TO CENTER CITY.
You can learn a lot from someone who has been in your shoes. Their honest insight can help you navigate your way to the place that’s right for you, regardless of which community you choose. (All quotes contained in this post are excerpts from an interview conducted with Corinne Sheinhorn on Thursday, May 5th, 2016. To read the full, un-edited transcript, please click here.)

A former Balanchine dancer, Corinne enjoyed living at One Lincoln Center in Manhattan. Now she loves being at the heart of everything cultural in Philadelphia. Visible from her apartment facing Logan Square, the city’s landmarks serve as a constant reminder of her exciting choices. When she has the slightest inkling to go to plays, concerts or museums, she hops on our bus. When she wants a little exercise, she goes for a walk. If she wants to visit her daughter in Wilmington, she boards the train. She wouldn’t be enjoying such wonderful options today had she not found The Watermark at Logan Square five years ago.

EXPLORE YOUR OPTIONS
What fun things will you do today and with whom? Which places will you visit and what will you learn? Living well is all about making the right choices and there’s no reason to let the prospect of advancing age diminish those choices. Especially when the right retirement community can provide all the choices you need to live well today and tomorrow. What you learn may not only surprise you, it could open doors to a future filled with new opportunities. “I don’t think you should come with a preconceived image. You should come with an open mind.” – Corinne Sheinhorn

CENTER CITY VIBE
Corinne relinquished her job at Lincoln Center after 17 years when her husband became ill. After he passed away, loneliness set in. Her daughter suggested moving closer. She showed her a beautiful suburban Philadelphia community but Corinne found it too far from the cultural events she craved. Then she discovered The Watermark and this New Yorker fell in love with the Center City vibe. “It’s more historical, which I love. It has older buildings in it, which I love, not as many new tall skyscrapers, which I love. It has some and it’s getting more but it has these old streets and old buildings and old parks and history galore and I love that.” – Corinne Sheinhorn

ACTIVE AND ENGAGED LIVING
When she’s not exploring the city, Corinne is enjoying her vibrant community of friends. Thanks to making the right move at the right time, she never has to feel alone anymore. “We come down early and chat and then go in to dinner together. Each night I have a different group I go in with. It’s really very nice and then they have performances at night and I love them. On the weekend they have good movies…and usually live performances on Sunday night and then also streaming performances other times.” – Corinne Sheinhorn
