This May, Watermark amigos were invited to a fiesta in honor of Cinco de Mayo. We celebrated Mexico’s heritage, culture, food and drink with a fiesta featuring a live performance by Magdaliz and her Latin Ensemble, Crisol. The band was amazing and played authentic numbers from a variety of folk and traditional music genres from all over Latin America and the Caribbean including Cuban sones, Mexican huapangos, boleros, folk tunes from Puerto Rico, Columbia and Venezwela and Mexican mariachi music. Magdaliz was born in Puerto Rico and she explained that Crisol is Spanish for melting pot. This south of the border style party sizzled and the dance floor was packed as we celebrated with margaritas and Mexican appetizers. Those that couldn’t dance shook their maracas to the beat of the conga drums, several sported sombreros and some came in disguise with a mustache for the occasion!
We had so much fun chippin’, dippin’ and margarita sippin’!
