On July 13th, We had a wonderful Sri Lankan luncheon here at the Watermark!
Each month, we pick a different country for this class. We featured the country of Sri Lanka since one of our residents, Maive, is originally from Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon).
Maive and Saori gave a presentation to educate others about the culture and food of Sri Lanka. We enjoyed some delicious food including Sri Lankan Dahl, Chicken Dvil Rice, and Ceylon tea all prepared by the Watermark chefs. As we were enjoying the delicious meal, we watched some film about the beautiful country of Sri Lanka.
At the end of the presentation, Maive demonstrated on how to wear Sally (traditional clothing made with beautiful silk). Kimmy became a model for us, and she looked so beautiful in Sally!
It was such a wonderful experience. We get to see, feel, and taste the culture of Sri Lanka!
Thank you so much to Maive for this spectacular presentation!
